I can't recommend this project highly enough. The level of attention you are given from the moment you arrive is... superb.
We were given traditional dress to change into and were told about the Karen tribe and the local history before the elephants were brought down from the mountains to eat the bamboo we had freshly chopped for them. After watching them eat and feeding them we were lucky enough to bathe and wash them before enjoying a lovely stroll. We then learnt how to speak elephant and watched them feed some more before having a lovely meal cooked for us.
This was a fantastic day and I wouldn't consider any other project. You get up very close and personal with these gentle giants and you are made to feel very welcome. This is a charitable organisation so please give it a go if you get the chance.read more
